DirectAccess
: A VPN-less connection to the network. With DirectAccess, Windows 8 connects to the enterprise as soon as the browser is launched. Nothing said yet about encryption and security, but it will probably run over SSL as well as incorporate a BitLocker style encryption. On the enterprise side, you have to run Active Directory Domain Services and Windows Server 8. This is something that could widely used if it works as advertised. Smaller companies that don’t have a remote access solution will love it.
