Startup Pwnie Express Hiring, Opening in Boston

Pwnie Express, a provider of rapid deployment remote security assessment products, has relocated its headquarters to Boston’s Innovation District. In addition, the company wants to add to its engineering, sales, marketing and finance teams to deal with increasing customer demand. According to the Boston Business Journal, Pwnie Express will hire 12 new employees by the end of 2014.

CEO Paul Paget and two other employees are working at the new headquarters at 253 Summer Street. The company’s research and development, as well as manufacturing operations, will remain at its current location in Vermont.

Founded in Barre, Vt., in 2010, Pwnie Express reports that more than 1,000 businesses in a variety of sectors — including retail, finance, health and manufacturing, as well as service providers and government organizations — use the company’s cyber security products and services. In July, the company raised $5.1 million Series A financing led by .406 Ventures and joined by Fairhaven Capital and the Vermont Seed Capital Fund.
