Asurion to Add 800 Jobs in Nashville

Nashville, Tenn.-based cell phone insurer Asurion plans to add 800 support technician positions in an expanded headquarters due to open in early 2014.

Asurion LogoThe company has posted dozens of IT positions including scrum master, UI development team lead (.NET) and software security architect.

Asurion bills itself as “a single, knowledgeable resource for technical assistance, regardless of device or operating system.” Asurion does not sell insurance directly, but works with phone carriers, covering loss, theft, accidental damage and malfunction. Those whose claims are approved might opt to send in their phones for repair.

The company relocated its global headquarters to Nashville in 2003, and a year ago said it was targeting new college grads in a bid to add 500 IT positions.

Asurion employs 14,000 people globally and 2,500 in the Nashville area. The new 122,000-square-foot facility will be the company’s fifth site in Davidson County.
