ComDEX used to be way bigger than CES ever became, so CES could certainly fade away any time soon.
And, as pointed out, CES is in January, but as a CONSUMER electronics show, it should be in Oct or Nov so people can see what will be available for the holiday season.
And with the Internet as big as it is, I don’t think there’s as much need for people to go see products they heard about since there’s plenty of fodder all over the places to find.
I think there’s still a need for something like CES, but it will have to change with the times to promote it as more prototype stuff and less consumer-ready stuff.
