Three Upcoming Android Development Contests

Android development contests are an excellent opportunity to showcase your design and development talents. The path to big winnings will take considerable effort and an eye for good UI design. If you think you’ve got what it takes to be crowned a grand-prize winner, check out these upcoming Android development contests.

Android at Play – Sponsored by Intel

Hosted by the Code Project, this contest offers weekly prizes plus a grand prize of $25,000. Monthy winners will receive a $1,000 cash prize and will be eligible for the grand prize. Entries must be new games developed using Intel’s mobile tools for Intel-powered Android devices. Entries will be accepted until Nov. 6. Requirements include porting your app to run on Intel’s architecture.

Samsung Smart App Challenge 2012

Samsung is looking to award more than $4  million to apps in three categories. Only new apps being sold in the Samsung App Seller marketplace are eligible. Apps available in other markets before being entered in the contest will be rejected. Apps must be run on Android 2.3 or higher. A total of 80 prizes are up for grabs. Themes and widgets are not eligible. Contest entries will be accepted until Sept. 30.

This contest offers $4.08 million in cash prizes and mega marketing support for app promotion to the top 80 apps including 60 Samsung Apps Super Apps and 20 Best S Pen Apps featuring the most creative GALAXY Note Stylus Pen (S Pen) functions.

Battle of the Apps 2013

Sponsored and hosted by Infusionsoft. This contest focuses on integration with the Infusionsoft API and app entries must provide a benefit for small business users. The  contest isn’t for Android alone — Web apps are also accepted. (At this writing, there are only three Android apps available in the Infusionsoft marketplace.) Cash prizes and promotional support will be awarded to four apps, and the grand champion will receive $10,000. Entries will be accepted until Dec. 30.

Read all guidelines before entering these contests. They require apps to be new and not for sale in any marketplace at the time of entry. There is no cost to enter. Happy coding!
