The new tablet looks similar to a Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet, but with an S-Pen support.
On the software side, the Galaxy Note Tablet runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with TouchWiz user interface and it is optimized for the S-Pen. Galaxy Note’s S-Pen is one of the most advanced pen input solution on the market, according to Samsung, because it provides “enhanced pressure sensitivity, superior accuracy and control when editing or writing, providing an analog pen writing experience on a digital device.”
Inside the 10.1 Note Tablet, there’s a 1.4 GHz dual-core Exynos processor, 1Gb of RAM, HSPA+ 21Mbps, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth. The internal memory has 16/32/64 Gb and on top of this, the tablet also supports microSD cards. On the back of tablet, there’s a 3 megapixel camera, while on the front there’s a 2 megapixel sensor. I think the only thing interesting about this tablet could be the S-Pen stylus, even if this may be considered by some users as a little outdated.
Galaxy Note 10.1 maximizes efficiency in learning, work and creative endeavors, Samsung says, thanks to its multi-screen functionality. Even so, we’ll have to wait and see if the Note Tablet will make any noise on the market, knowing that iPad 3 announcement will come within weeks. It will be hard to convince tablet consumers to buy a stylus based tablet with a dual-core processor, when quad-core tablets emerge each day on surface.
JK Shin, president of the IT & Mobile Communications Division at Samsung, said:
GALAXY Note 10.1 takes productivity on a Note to a whole new level. With a larger, fully utilizable screen and superior performance, it combines the intuitiveness of handwriting with all the versatility of digital content to let users be more productive across all of life’s demanding tasks — whether working, learning, or simply creating their own stories.
With GALAXY Note 10.1 we are demonstrating Samsung’s commitment to extend the mobile category and are working with key partners like Adobe to provide extraordinary experiences for users that enable them to be more productive, express themselves creatively and add a touch of fulfillment to their lives.
